German track and field star Alica Schmidt had a summer she'll never forget as she looked back before the hard graft begins again.

The 23-year-old was involved in her home European Games in Munich in August, while she also rubbed shoulders with a host of famous faces as he jet setted around the globe.

Schmidt, who worked as a fitness coach for Borussia Dortmund during the 2020-21 season, clawed her way back into competing after being left out of the Tokyo 2020 squad.

The 400m star kicked off her summer by taking part in her first World Championships, where she suffered heartbreak in the opening round.

She failed to qualify for the 4x400m mixed relay final after finishing fifth in the heats with her colleagues.

But she still impressed enough to make the European Games squad, where she crashed out in the semi-finals.

And after taking a well-earned break in Thailand, Schmidt took part in Milan Fashion Week where she swapped the sea and sand for the runway.

It was in Italy where she posed for pictures alongside British boxing favourite Anthony Joshua, model Naomi Campbell and American rapper Future.

And she even hung out with Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar at a promotional event in Berlin.

After an incredible summer, Schmidt uploaded a video on social media where she included all of her best bits.

Captioning the post on Instagram, she said: "Will never forget this summer.

"Thailand. Fashionweek. Milano. Paris. Neymar. Naomi Campbell. Future. Munich2022. Track and field. Sprint."

The video was filled with her mixing with high-profile celebrities, as well as her in action for Germany along with relaxing during her holiday in Asia.

Schmidt's attention will now undoubtedly turn towards making Germany's Paris 2024 Olympic squad.

In a recent post on Instagram, she told her 3.2 million followers: "Off season is almost over but I‘m really looking forward to training and preparing for 2023 again.

"In my off season I still continued to eat my proteins and my muscles as best I could without to receive training."
